Trying to be quieter

Ever since we started a band for church, we have struggled with being quiet. It is so easy get loud and really enjoy what you are playing (well for the most part).
Tonight we are practicing for a teen rally that is at the end of the month. Last time we played there, I got the comment switch – the compliment followed by a loving insult:
“Hey thanks for playing you guys sounded great, I love electric guitar. Your amp sure is bright”
“Oh thanks, glad you liked it”
“Well yeah it actually hurt my ears…”
Can’t wait.
