I think one of the big reasons I would like to get away from PHP is the uncertain future. It seems like the changes in store for PHP are gonna be really bumpy. 5.1, while its going to have some cool things, is really going to have a hard time catching on, I mean, how many people really migrated from version 4? I tried it and it sucked. Too much code to overhaul, just easier to keep it 4.

It’s similar to the MySQL problem. The more they try and do, that more is jacks up stuff, and makes us long for the simpler days when things just worked.
Although, that being said, you spend one day trying to reconcile .NET activeX input fields with XML layouts and you’ll be wishing for a little taste from the PHP teet.
