24 hours of hell?

So the 24 Hours of Adrenaline race is coming up this weekend. What is that you might ask? Well you can check out their really crapp website for more info (hint: it sucks). But basically its a mountain bike relay race. This will be the third time that I have done it, and I usually get really excited when its just a few days before, but this time around, not so much. Lets reflect.
Monday
Went on a ride with Mike. Was a nice ride out at Daley Ranch, until it got dark and my light decided not to function. I just bought that light for $280 last august and that battery will already not take a charge. What a piece of crap.Tuesday
Realize that light is out of warranty, so no love on them replacing it. Its like they know those batteries won’t last. Angry with the thought that I might have to pay $150 for another battery, I tear the thing apart. You know what? Its just a simple mess of soldered batteries. Hmmm.
After realizing this, I decide to take my battery to BatteriesPlus, to see if they can rebuild it. Well they say that they can have it for me tomorrow. I also drop my bike of at the shop because the chain they put on rubs like crazy.Wednesday
Bike never looked at, thats what I get for bringing it in during a race week, and for not having the balls to just look at it myself. Also, the light is not ready, in fact, it hasnt moved from where I dropped it off yesterday. Emma also barfed at day care so I had to go pick her up and clean off the massive amounts of Egg Salad Sandwich from her clothes and blankets. I didn’t take any pictures. I think I got something from her because I spent the rest of the evening in the bathroom ‘catching up on my reading’.Thursday
Sick. Rain. Scary email from twenty4sports.com about the trail and how they will emascualte anyone they catch riding on it before the race starts. No acceptations! Nice spelling guys.So I’m sitting here in the garage finishing up my day of work. I have some things packed, but its only like %15 of my list. I still need to go get food, see if I can pick up my battery and charge it, and pack my camping gear. This will be the first time I’ve been away from both kids for this long.
Heres to hoping none of us crash this year.
